  Recommendations for a lawyer who does prenups? Throwaway account because my girlfriend reddits. Can anyone here recommend a good lawyer in Vancouver for a prenup? I don't know if I need one but there are some reasons why I might, and I'd like to talk to a lawyer to figure things out. Hopefully an honest lawyer (insert jokes here) who won't just say "yes of course you should hire me to write a prenup for you". Googling is telling me which lawyers spend lots of money on advertising but I'm looking for personal recommendations.

  Hi, the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association (CBABC) has a [Lawyer Referral Service](http://www.cbabc.org/for-the-public/lawyer-referral-service). You call the number, describe your general issue, and they'll provide a list of lawyers in your location practising in that area of law and who participate in the lawyer referral program. If you are referred, you will receive a 30 minute consultation with the lawyer for $25. After the 30 minutes, the rate you pay is between you and the lawyer, should both parties agree to work together. Good luck!

  you can try calling the BC Bar Lawyer referral service and ask for someone in your city that specializes in immigration law. through the referral service you can make an appointment for a 1/2 hour consultation with a lawyer for $25. that may give you an idea if you actually need a lawyer for your visa or not. you can get one phone number per day; give the lawyer a few days to get back to you though. http://www.cbabc.org/For-the-Public/Lawyer-Referral-Service

I would like to talk to a lawyer and find out if this sort of check will go through, and if possible, would like to have it done so that I can figure out how to navigate my situation without getting into a place where my past comes into question.   Ariane, you should go to http://cbabc.org/For-the-Public/Lawyer-Referral-Service . It's through the canadian bar association and they will refer you to a lawyer that'll meet your needs! And it'll only cost you $25 for a half hour "consult".. Of course you wouldn't really require that. But it's worth trying to find someone through here
