Can anyone recommend a good maker space that has a solder re-flow oven and some experience I could draw on? Or maybe someone knows of a professional PCB assembly place that does good work for cheap or might have pity on an EE trying to get a tricky senior design project completed with minimal budget and resources.   You could maybe try the Austin Hacker Space http://atxhs.org/ If anything you could at least find someone there to point you in the right direction.

  ATX Hackerspace has a hot-air rework station. You might try bringing your project up there on Tuesday night (open house) and ask around if someone can help you. Most of the nerds up there are pretty cool and I bet someone would give you a hand if it's a quick job.

But the dealership mechanics say they won't sell it separate, but instead a whole brand new LED UNIT for a mere $1,600.00. Say what!? So I need someone to help me install it.   I'd bet The ATX HackerSpace has the solution to your problem! We've got a full bay with car repair tools and the like. Bring your car by on a Tuesday night around 8 for open house, or message me if you need to go by earlier, I'm no good with cars, but I know which members are.
