Anyone have any good restaurant ideas for Chicago? Our anniversary is while were in Chitown.

Hm. The Publican (http://thepublicanrestaurant.com/), Japonais (https://www.facebook.com/JaponaisChicago), Topolobampo (http://www.rickbayless.com/restaurants/topolobampo.html), North Pond (http://www.northpondrestaurant.com/), Next (https://www.nextrestaurant.com/website/faq), Goosefoot (http://www.goosefoot.net/), Les Nomades (http://www.lesnomades.net/w/cuisine.html), and of course, if you really want to drop some dollars, Alinea (https://content.alinearestaurant.com/html/index.html). For more every day meals, Lori and I hit The Gage often (http://www.thegagechicago.com/).

I did have the single best meal I've ever had in my life at Alinea; it's not even a close call, which given my days in SF and New York says something. It was also the single most expensive meal I've ever had, but that's what we get for going with all the wine pairings.

Alinea does indeed seem to be the current leader but there are old time kick-ass places in Greek town where flaming ouzo-saganaki was invented and that's way more festive than cake...Carson's is still my favorite place for ribs and baked potatoes (with a large chicken-shaped mound of chopped liver while you wait). Mostly though i miss the spectacular sausage pie at Gigio's on Davis@Railroad in Evanston and if you are lucky enough to be there when owners Julio and Mario are in, and mention my name, they'll surely hook you up with a little lagniappe...

Alinea
Rob S. replied:
Alinea, if you can pull off the reservation

Alinea thirded. Also Topolobampo (Rick Bayless can do no wrong in my book).
Any suggestions for a restaurant in Chicago on a Sunday night? Looking for adventurous and high quality experience.
Thanks!

Haven't been, but this place is supposed to be incredible. Depends on when you're going since you need to get reservations in advance. https://content.alinearestaurant.com/html/index.html
