  Does anyone have an over the counter medicine they recommend for joint pain and swellng? My doctor prescribed Meloxicam for inflammation, but it hasn't helped, especially today. My knees are very swollen and painful. Happened after I walked uo the stairs at the movies New Years Eve. I could feel a ripping feeling across top.of knee and each day the swelling and pain has worsened. Then for some freaky reason, my elbows wanted some of the action and are doing the same thing.
