  The Gay and Lesbian Medical Association has a database where you can look up trans friendly clinics/doctors. You can even specify what kind of service you want, like hrt.   Thanks to Obamacare, I now have insurance as of June 1. Yay! I'm wondering if anyone can recommend an HIV Specialist in the Palm Springs area that takes Blue Shield of Ca? It's NOT Blue Cross, it's Blue Shield. Also, I want a REALLY good doctor who is going to listen to me, and have had good look with HIV specialists, though I don't have HIV. Any thoughts?   A few comments: 1. Stop blaming the ACA or Obamacare for insurance plans that have "narrow" networks of physicians. The insurance plans charging the least have the "narrowest" networks. 2. Everyone with HIV in California is entitled (by law) to see a physician who is certified in HIV medicine. That is not the same as an infectious disease specialist. 3. I'm not sure why someone who is HIV negative would need to see an HIV specialist. I suppose if the person is looking for someone to discuss PrEP pros and cons, an HIV specialist might be more knowledgeable, but I think most primary care physicians who care for gay men should/would be able to discuss it. 4. The Gay and Lesbian Medical Association website is a good source for LGBTI-friendly providers. https://glmaimpak.networkats.com/members_online_new/members/dir_provider.asp
