My son will be a Senior at WCHS next year. In need of a photographer. It's way different from when I graduated. How does this work? Any photogs highly recommended?

Ms. Kormoski, are you referring to the photos that were taken for your daughter by Lifetouch last year? I was not satisfied with their work either, hence the transition with companies. We are no longer using Lifetouch. We are using Loveless Fine Photography. I don't want parents getting a bad taste in their mouth from people who were not happy with the photos when they have never been photographed by Loveless. Unless you can comment specifically on Loveless Fine's work please remember anything negative stated about the photography cannot apply to this year moving forward due to the switch in the companies we are using. I would recommend parents visit Loveless' website and browsing through their photos. They have done some phenomenal work, and I've had nothing but compliments on their service and work so far with our upcoming seniors. http://www.lovelessphotography.com/

Katricia Campbell Moore, I'm the yearbook advisor at WCHS. Students must have a casual and formal shot taken by the photography company in contract with our school in order for the photos to appear in the yearbook. This has always been the case. This year we are using a new company - Loveless Fine Photography out of Murfreesboro, TN. Last year was my first year as advisor, and I was not happy with the quality of the company we used for our photographs. I decided to make a change and go with this company since I have heard so many wonderful things about them. Obviously, I would suggest and hope each parent would give Loveless Fine Photography the opportunity to photograph his or her child before using another photographer. That's why I made this change because they are putting out amazing quality photos for an amazing price compared to other contract photographers in our area. To answer your question, yes a casual and a formal photo must be taken by the contract company in order for the photos to appear in the yearbook. There is a "clean-up" day for students who cannot afford a photo session. This happens at school during school hours and only one casual and one formal photo is taken for yearbook purposes. If the "clean-up" day is used, students do not get to pick which photos are used; I simply use the one that was taken. Please remember, this company helps pay for our yearbook expenses. When parents use outside photographers, we lose money from our photography company that goes toward the yearbook expenses. You pay the photography company and that money comes back to the school program. I hope this has answered your questions. Feel free to email me if necessary, and always, check the school website for other questions concerning senior deadlines.
