  Alright horse friends... I am a senior in high school who is required to write a 10-12 page research paper on something. Obviously I wanted to do equine related things. I started to do the techniques of equine rehabilitation like hydrotherapy and massage therapy etc... but am running into problems accessing information and or not finding enough information. Any ideas?? I am very interested in the veterinarian side of things, but that has caused me to run into accessing problems. Please let me know of any ideas!

I've also heard people say that they have bought what they thought was co, but that it turned out to have no cancer fighting properties at all ...they were hoodwinked into buying something rather useless at a high price ... how can a person check that the therapeutic oil they think they have bought is what it says on the tin?   The primary literature would be your best bet for these specific questions. Pubmed.com is the NIH gateway to search for research in journals, etc. I'd start there.

  I don't want create conflict but I always like to help educate. I agree with previous statements that essential oils work and that they work differently for every individual just like pharmaceuticals. I also agree that modern healthcare has its place and I believe that we need to start closing the gap between modern medicine and other holistic wellness practices. I am also agreeing that essential oils are not created equally. Some are synthetic and impure and therefore create interactions. What I disagree with is the statement that essential oils have not been studied enough. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years but In the past few decades they have been studied and researched extensively. Hundreds and thousands of peer reviewed and medically reviewed studies have been published. Pubmed.com is an amazing resource for studies on essential oils and there is a new resource called aromatic science.com which is maintained by a nationally ranked anesthesiologist and several other certified medical providers. it is full of amazing published studies...human trials I might add. I have a hard time hearing statements like backwards scientific methods. Pharm. company's try then justify all the time...they are called off label RX. A drug is studied for a specific purpose and then put on the market for a completely different use then what was originally studied. It would be silly to think that every RX could be studied for every interaction with different body types and also other interactions with other meds. I am not saying that there can not be side effects from essential oils BUT they are going to be so far and few between when you have a pure product. When you have 100 percent pure essential oils you do not have the synthetic man made compounds full of fillers and binders. I am under the vision that we have to work together to bridge the gap. In our home we use the oils first and then if we need to we then go to our medical provider. I can tell you that in the past two years...other than well baby visits and prenatal care we have not had to use our healthcare provider. Ear infections first aid needs, sinus infections etc taken care of at home for cents! Isn't that what we want...creating healthier independent families versus symptomatic healing and codependency on drugs? Modern medicine is amazing but we need to be empowered and know that there are simple natural and safe solutions that we can use in our homes. I also included a DR panel video...these are medical care providers that use the essential oils in their practices and I can tell you it's not because "so and so" tried them and had a good experience...it's because of scientific and controlled studies.   Because the oils are lipid soluble they can permeate cells, and are absorbed quickly. So no they can't rub it off :) and it is absorbed into the bloodstream, and take effect quickly (some studies show blood changes within 30 seconds). You can check out pubmed.com or aromaticscience.com to see the published medical studies on essential oils.
