  Well I took my car to get an oil change first thing yesterday and then I was going to bring it to get a tune up and start calling people from this list you guys so graciously gave me tips on and not an hour after I took it to Harry T's to get my oil change and a car wash, my breaks completely went out as I was coming down bankhead onto cedar street. I wasn't even having a problem with the breaks before - I was having a problem retaining coolant in my engine and what sounded like a slipping transmission. Needless to say it will be a while before my breaks are fixed and then I can try to find an honest mechanic. I feel like what I didn't want to happen exactly happened : I tried to take care of my car and I got ripped off - and now possibly paying more to pay for something that wasn't broken in the first place. but on a brighter note I'm alive- I found all you nice people who gave a lot of recommendations- thanks Also shout out to Ricky the tow truck mechanic 770 214 1234 who made sure I got taken care of by the break people at Roy's and for giving me an extremely fair price to tow my vehicle - very nice man and he was there to pick me up 10 min after I broke down just in case anyone needs an affordable tow truck in the future.
