  So, it's my turn to ask for some advice. I attempted to search the group and found no info in regards to my request. What I'm looking for is a recommendation for a licensed and professional chimney inspector/sweep. My grandfather built my home in the early 70's and it has a beautiful fireplace. However it probably hasn't been used in at least a decade, maybe longer. So, I know it needs to be cleaned out at a minimum and I would like the person doing that to be able to tell me if it's safe or not to use for fires when it's cold enough. I know it's only a couple of a weeks every season or so, but relaxing by a fire in my own home has been a dream for many, many years and I'm just now able to check it off the list once I feel safe enough to do so.

  Albert I've been using Ye Olde Chimney Sweeps for over 15 years. Jack and Joe Solomon. Their number is 352 796-7722 and 352 799-2750. They also go on my roof to clean out my dryer vent.
