My family would like to visit the mountains in October and stay in a cabin. We were thinking North GA or TN. Does anyone have any recommendations on great places to stay? Thanks!!

Megan Benesch-Morrison - keep in mind that depending on when in October you plan on visiting, Leaf Season is the busiest time of the year up there. You'll be paying the highest prices of the year, and some of the private cabins might have minimum lengt h stay requirements. Places like The Lodge at Buckberry Creek might already be sold out for October. But places like Gatlinburg Falls should have availability since they have a very high inventory. (there are 2 or three other "partner" Cabin Resorts up there, as well, but the only one I have stayed at and can vouch for is Gatlinburg Falls). As Jane L. Revell mentioned, it will be very congested, especially the second half of October.
