  The last newspaper article in the Sanford Herald says the building was built in 1929. It sounds like they are going to tear down the original building, here's a quote from the article: "Eventually, said Ioppolo, they hope to knock down the old St. Jo hns Bar & Grill and replace it with a two-story deck where patrons can either view the stage or the lakefront."
