  I prefer the instructions here: http://www.aidan-campbell.co.uk/.../Guide%20 to%20Viking... to using the "duct tape a sock" method you often see. There used to be an even better tutorial online (which I loved to bits) for making even simpler one-piece shoes. Can't for the life of me find it, though.
