  Hi! I am looking for a nice FREE place to have a birthday party for my 5 yr old and about 25 guests. I need a place with a pavilion. I don't want to go to Wildewood because my kids don't actually like that playground. Sidecut metropark would be perfect but their pavilion is already reserved and I believe it charges anyway. My last resort is Strawberry Acres park in Holland. It has a great playground but a very small pavilion over a few picnic tables so it would work but I'd really like to see if there are any other options before I commit to it. (Carr park would be great but that's in Temperance and a little further from me than I'd prefer.) Just wondering if I've missed any other parks/playgrounds.

  Most Toledo Metro parks require a reservation. IF they're not reserved, they are first come first serve. A list by park, including capacity & cost. http://www.metroparkstoledo.com/metro/whattodo/index.asp?page_id=549 I can't find anything on Toledo City Parks, but I know that Walbridge is kind of the same.. first come first serve if it's not reserved. I don't think I've ever really seen it reserved this late into the season. Navarre park also has a small park & a tennis court.. I don't think I've ever seen that reserved. It can't hurt to call and ask. Even if you don't formally reserve them, they'll be able to tell you if the shelter is open on that date or not.. could help with the planning.
