  Has anyone around here had solar installed on their roofs recently? We have a large, unshaded, South-facing roof and would like to find out what it would take to turn it solar. I know there are rebates and incentives, and I think now might be the time, but I'd love to know your experiences with various contractors. I've been to the city's page, and can just cold-call the list, but personal referrals are much more important to me. Thanks.

  We used West Seattle Natural Energy about 8 years ago. They are a local, family run business. Did a great job. The solar produced as promised, no problems. We ended up moving, But the new owners have no issues, save about $800 a year in energy costs for a small array on rooftop. Check them out. http://westseattlenaturalenergy.com/
