  Papier mache is your friend. Have a go and see how you get on. No-one is born able to make things, we all have to start somewhere. Some of the best plague doctor masks I've seen are made of paper and glue. A quick Google has turned up a couple of links to help. The first has a good method using a balloon to make the mask shape.
