He even sent a thank you note after his visit; my husband and I were so impressed. Once he got his deposit everything changed. First, he gave us a timeline based on doing one coat on the trim. Once the actual painters came to the house they realized it was going to take two coats. This added three days to the timeline. Someone with a lifetime in the family business should have known what the job would entail. I felt bad for the crew who had to postpone other jobs. My second issue came at the end of the job when I learned that he kept half of the payment for himself ($1800) and the guys who actually did the work got the other half. Doing the math, each guy earned about $200 for seven days work. Finally, he was awful to communicate with when we were discussing our concerns with him. He yelled at us and refused to have a conversation. He believed that giving us a "deal" on our job gave him the right to act unprofessionally. If you want great painters, contact the actual workers - they are good guys and so honest. Joel Madrid is the lead.
