  Help please. My plan A for Sunday is a BBQ at Lydiard Park for 30/35 people to celebrate a "big birthday" -with lots of children and possibly dogs!! BUT...due to the terrible and unpredictable weather I need to come up with a Plan B. Do any of you know of a function room/space that I can use - self catering - that will suit our family arrangement? All suggestions gladly received!!!

  I think Bowood is expensive for what you get. I think Grittleton is lovely but the menu is rather old fashioned. Wellington barn is hugely expensive but very nice from what I hear. Lackham is beautiful. The best thing to do is sit down and work out what you want from a venue, what is a priority and an absolute no, and then contact a wedding planner to recommend a venue which has everything you want.   Town Hall Calne also licensed but Wellington Barn is gorgeous if that's within your budget
