Indianapolis friends: Looking for a recommendation for a place to get a new transmission. My Car Doc, or anyone else? Prefer only places where you have personally had this work done on your vehicle. Thanks!

Sorry to hear you have tranny woes. What's it doing?? Apparently it's standard that the ES300 transmission will hang in a higher gear to keep the revs up & warm up the car faster. ...Harmless, albeit annoying! We had our van's transmission worked on at Edward's (Mich Rd) because the 'reverse bands' puked. Our regular mechanic (Tom Nygaard,@Kessler & College) sent us there. Their price was reasonable, and it stayed fixed. http://www.edwardstransmissions.com/repair_desktop/?gclid=CPCimIeyhbsCFYJAMgod2 yAATQ Another friend, who is the head of the towing program at AAA says that Al Cooprider is the best wrench in town. http://www.yelp.com/biz/cooprider-auto-service-indianapolis?nb=1
