It's a long shot, but does anybody here live in Montreal and know where I can buy shikakai (and maybe aritha and amla) and pure henna. Amazon charges $18 delivery, crazy!

I found a cheaper option on amazon, but it's going to take a month... sigh! For the Henna I ordered silk & stone brand, it seems like a good product. They also have Shikakai etc, but more expensive than the Indian brands, so didn't order it. Seems like they have nice products though. You can order directly through them (which is cheaper than through amazon) though I haven't seen if they deliver to Canada (they are based in Portland). http://silknstone.com/
Does anyone know of a good henna artist? Both Half Moon and Blooming Lotus are BOOKED! :(
Susan H. replied:
Melanie Ooi of Blue Lotus (503) 758-8195 or Kaniz Shah or Silk and Stone 503.342.6859. Melanie gave a presentation on Henna to Wedding Network a few years ago and Kaniz did all the Henna for my Indian wedding last year. Both are VERY good.
