  My parents did a tour of texas for next to nothing (granted in the 70's) but had a blast. Head over to [the day tripper] (http://thedaytripper.com/) and look at his day trips, with a little planning you can have an amazing honeymoon for less thatn $1 k by driving to the small town, seeing the sights and doing a little road trip. I would make a big wide circle and use airbnb or camp if you can. There enough things to do for only a few bucks to keep you busy for weeks if you plan accordingly.
