This concerns me. I can't find out what exactly happened to the babies who died, so does anyone have any more information about this? I love baby slings and recommend them to everyone, but in the news they were saying not to use them before 4 months, but that's when babies really benefit from being worn!

At least with baby wearing the parent is pre sent! I think that would make it automatically safer than putting them in a 'baby cage' and walking away. http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/.../injrep-rapbles/irinsw-eng.php Baby Swings are also less safe, the most likely place for a newborn to get hurt with a rate of '765.3 in 100,000 CHIRPP injuries' and the most common cause being the newborn falling out of the swing!
