About us
StreetStars was originally set up and founded by Roxanne, a professional performer and IDTA qualified dance teacher from Hull who has performed her whole life. Originally a Ballet and Tap dancer, training at the prestigious Skelton Hooper school of dance, Roxanne moved over to Freestyle and Street Dance at the age of 13 joining the then named, Hames School of Dance.
At 16 Roxanne entered the national televised talent series "Pop Idol" and beat off thousands of other hopefuls to earn her place in the top 10, and eventually finishing in 6th place.
Since then Roxanne has performed nationally in both singing and dancing in venues such as Wembley Arena, Manchester MEN Arena, and not forgettting Hull's very own KC Stadium!
She set up her original dance school "Roxie's Streetstars" in 2010, and due to high growth has taken on over 100 students a week, offering even more dance and performance skills and offering IDTA training and along with her sister Shaka, who is also a professional and IDTA qualified dancer.
Most recently, Streetstars dance teams Fusion and Mercury won the international dance championships in Daytona, Florida!
