We use a Speculum to hold the mouth open to do a visual exam and palpate by hand, "now, every tech. has their own way of doing the initial exam". Then we talk with owner, on what is needed. Basic Float & Bit seat, Extraction, Hooks (chipped) removed, Ramps reduced, Wolf teeth extracted, Canines clipped and buffed, Tarter removed, Alignment. Every horse wares their teeth different. But Please remember this, If you have had a horse for several years and never had his teeth taken care of and all of a sudden he starts dropping weight or dropping balls of unchewed wads of hay he may be beyond correction. He can be cleaned up some but sometimes not even power tools can fix it. Thats why its so important to have young horses as well as an aged horse, should have dental care to catch problems before they get out of hand. I keep my price low so it is more affordable to maintain your horses dental care.
Looking for suggestions for an Equine Dentist as I just heard Steve Shaver is no longer practicing. Looking for someone who does floats without sedation or power tools like Steve did.

Does anyone have the name & # for the equine dentist that was at the Three Rivers TSC back in March?
Diane Z. replied:
Kris Mrodreske is the equine dentist that was at TSC in March. Her # is (616) 890-2394. Tell her you found out about her from TSC coggins clinic and she may still give you the special price she offered then.
