  Does anyone know any information about a program though the school district called Early Steps? From my understanding, its a program that helps underdeveloped children with their speech. I have tried to call but I guess I keep missing them. Does anyone have a child that is currently or has previously went though this? Apparently they will visit your home or daycare as well...

  You have to call the school board and set up an appointment for the testing. My son is going through it. Here is the number and extension to call 3372174300 ext 3695

  If early steps will not take you, you can go through the school board and get an early pre-k evaluation. That's who I was referred to by early steps. We just had our initial evaluation and they were so wonderful. Their number is 337-217-4300. That's who I would suggest you try first!

  Does anyone know where I can find a listing of the mayors of Lake Charles with their dates of service? A friend and I were trying to remember who was mayor and when in a discussion, and it occurs to me that having such a listing would be helpful, but I couldn't find one using Google. There is a nice page on Lake Charles in Wikipedia, and that would be a perfect place to hold such a listing. Some of them have been really great, while others have disappointed, but anyone who has gone through the headaches of holding such an office deserves to be remembered!
