  Do you use video? More and more DJs are turning to Video these days. Do you use Video? What video do you show, Dancing shadows, colour montages, actual music videos, live camera action from the event or client related footage. Does the video add to your DANCEFLOOR levels or does it actually DISTRACT from dance-floor population? If you use video; How do you display video content? Plasma screens on your trussing OR maybe on stands? Projected onto a screen or wall or maybe one of those new stretchy type screens we saw introduced a couple of years back? Would you recommend any providers of Video material? Where do you get your music videos from? And finally, do you earn a premium fee for introducing video into your show?

  Derek, I truly enjoy your regular FaceBook DJ notes, teasers, suggestions and ideas. This one, Video Projection, is a hot topic for me as I am a firm believer that is the 3 rd dimention of entertainment that few DJ's \ Entertainers are currently taking advantage of. Asking a DJ to provide music for just after dinner and not for the rest of the reception is the same, to me, as setting up projection for just the photo montage. In both examples you miss out on a variety of great opportunities to entertain your audience. Here are some video options I like to offer clients... Engagement Photos of the Bride & Groom on the big screen when guests arrive for cocktails. Photos of the ceremony during the first portion of dinner. Photos of the guests themselves (from the cocktail and early dining period) after salad \ before the entre is served. Or after everyone has gone through the buffet. If the Bride & Groom have their first dance before dinner, then I include those pictures as well. Photos for each of the bridal party and family members as they are introduced. The pictures can be of them and one or both of the Bride & Groom. Photos of the Bride & Father, Groom & Mother during the Father Daughter, Mother Son dances. Dance videos during the party time. Video dedications (YouTube Style) during dinner from guest who could not attend. Banner messages displaying congratulations and dedications during the event.
