Recommendations for a Vintage Tailor? Hi all - I have a beautiful vintage fur coat that has a split seam around the armhole and down the side. I'm a decent sewer but I'd rather have someone with experience take a crack at it.
I've taken it to a couple regular dry cleaner/alteration places and they haven't been able to help.
Anyone know of a tailor specializing in or able to work with vintage clothing?
Thanks!

Poppy's Dressmaking and Alterations in Brookline. Just ignore the bad reviews. It's a Russian shop. Luba is actually awesome. If you're polite and friendly, so is she! Prices are super reasonable for the work done. If they feel like something shouldn't be done, or the item just isn't built for that type of alteration, they'll let you know. They'll still do it if you push for it, but they'll let you know it won't be perfect. I've had suits done and pants, my wife had her wedding dress and a bunch of shirts and pants done. Totally reasonable prices for the work involved. https://www.yelp.com/biz/poppys-dressmaking-and-alterations-brookline
If you're willing to travel to Coolidge Corner, Luba at Poppy's is wonderful! Funny too! http://www.yelp.com/biz/poppys-dressmaking-and-alterations-brookline
