We were not residents and all we needed was our passport. I know there are several tours out of San Jose. Just don't know the names. I will do some checking and see what I can find out. Please let me know your search goes. If you are interested in having someone to go with I would be interested. I have heard that they are really being hard on Xpats crossing the border at Golfito back into Costa Rica from Panama. However, being on a tour bus would probably make it much easier.
