  This was posted on a Farnborough page: If people are interested in the Farnborough Airshow - IMO the best viewing point for the flying aircraft is from Miles Hill on the A323 around the south-west end of the main runway. You have a fantastic view looking down the whole length of the runway, with planes taking off over your head, and a high vantage point to see the aircraft flying around. I prefer going to Miles Hill on the Fri before the weekend public show (18 Jul 14) - it is virtually the full air display but less crowded (as people are working), I believe Miles Hill gets crowded on the weekend. There are strict traffic control measures around the airfield area with no stopping or parking on many roads (including the A323) and the police will move people on - so be prepared to park-up and walk a few miles to get to Miles Hill. It is an excellent way to spend a few hours - take a folding chair, picnic, camera, radio (airshow commentary) and appropriate clothing for the weather. I've seen the Fri displays in glorious sunshine and intermittent heavy showers, both were enjoyable experiences.
