I LOVE the narrow profile of the stock bars, but wish they were about 2-3" lower. Open to all suggestions. Footpegs: Mine seem to be falling apart at the seams, and the left one is tweaked pretty good. All the used pegs I'm finding seem to have the same issues.   I like the Honda CR Bars. They usually come in 3 heights. I prefer the low to medium rise bars. Here is a link to the Pro-Taper 7/8" series: http://www.protaper.com/products/handlebars/se As far as foot pegs... That's a bit trickier. I modified the pegs on my FT Ascot by first taking them apart & removing the rubber cushion. That left me with a round tube with a hole on one end for the bolt. I cut those tubes to where they were about 1.5" long. Just enough to bolt up to the bike & long enough to pivot. Then I took some steel dirt bike pegs & cut the mounting post off. The steel pegs were then welded to the tubing stubs. Here is a picture of the new pegs: http://ascot500.com/index.php?topic=79.msg308#msg308 This allowed me to raise the pegs about an inch higher from the ground & yet it didn't increase the bend in my knees because that thick piece of rubber was gone. I plan to do this on my VT Ascot also. Good luck.
