Hickorys is really nice, marmalade is a lovely cafe ideal for breakfast/lunch - homemade cakes are lovely, run by a coeliac so always very good 😊 http://www.marmalade-chester.co.uk/

Hi, my husband has been a coeliac all his life and on Wednesday is his birthday and we are going Chester for the day and I would some suggestions of where I can surprise him for a nice birthday meal.
Hickories down by the river does a gf menu as does Moules a go go. Usual chain restaurants too if you get stuck. If you want brekkie a little cafe called marmalade does gf full English brekkie too 🍴

Marmalade definitely, on north gate street opposite post office, they do amazing cakes; little cafe accepts everyone :)

I found Marmalade by accident and have no doubt they will welcome children. Not sure if they open late though but excellent for lunch
Hi, I am looking to arrange a meet up with friends in Chester and was looking to see if anyone has any recommendations of where we could have lunch. Thanks in advance for you suggestions.
There are a couple of lovely little cafes. One called Marmalade, (next to the Blue Bell pub I think) and one on the rows - will try and find the addresses for you. There are also the usual chains who cater well - Bella Italia, Carluccio's, La Tasca, depending on what you'd like to eat.

Hi :) Dorothy is right, Marmalade and The Mad Hatters are lovely. Zizzi's are also in the city centre and have GF pasta and lots of nice risottos. There is also a fantastic independent Italian restaurant, 'La Fattoria' that has GF pasta and a great, fun team that caters really well for groups. . If you're after a big treat with your friends, the Chester Grosvenor hotel have a very knowledgeable team and will always adapt recipes, the brasserie is also a lovely room to sit in for lunch - they do a gorgeous afternoon tea, although you would need to book ahead for that. Sticky Walnut is probably my favourite, have enjoyed many delicious meals with my friends (and Martin!) there. Hope you have a lovely time :) (and if you ever fancy fish and chips, 5 mins out of the city centre in Upton, we have 'Fish and Chips at Weston Grove' who have GF available every day! You can phone ahead to order if travelling from Crewe)
