Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
We are in London and started this business because there is a need for enjoyable free from foods. Everybody deserves to eat cake!
Describe a typical work day for you?
Taking the orders off the website, baking and decorating the cakes, or baking cookies and brownies. We also regularly test our recipes, and experiment with new ones - so those all need to be tasted! Somebody has to do it, and that's us!! Yum.
All orders are carefully packaged and collected by courier for delivery around the UK.
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
When I hear that a section of people can't enjoy sweet treats, it makes me want to create something that they can enjoy safely. So, creating treats that are almost totally free from allergens is a challenge, but we have done it. However, we still aim to improve. Basically we want to create treats that don't taste free from anything! We actually do that.
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
We are a very small family company. We like to treat customers the way we would like to be treated ourselves. Whether that's with customer service, hygiene, taste or delivery - we all deserve the best, without exception.
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
We used to do lots of farmers markets when we first started in the early 2000's. We had a few adult customers who had never eaten cake before, due to allergies! Their first ever taste of cake was baked by us, and of course they loved it. I like to think we set them on the road to a love of cakes.
