  Usually welded on the front near side (left) tie plate under the bumper tube. Stands for Nuffield metal products who made the body shells. Number should match the small narrow plates screwed to the bulkhead above the fuel pump. Edit to add British Motor heritage at Gaydon may have records of the body numbers. http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/archive-services/
