  Hi everyone, My partner and I are getting married in Toronto. We have a small wedding party of about 10 people. We are looking to substitute a proper reception with a restaurant dinner. Can anyone recommend a vegan restaurant where we might be able to do that? Just a nice-ish place where we can book a bigger booth or separate room type/ bring a cake and champagne for a fee maybe and rely on them for the meal itself and drinks etc. No preference for the type of food. The wedding is happening on Nov 26.

  I think Tori's would be your best bet for what you're looking to do. Plus it's actually a pretty nice space though you'd likely just take most of it over with your group :) Vegetarian Haven isn't licensed/doesn't do alcohol, so I don't know how they would handle champagne. One other thing you could consider is reaching out to folks like The Depanneur or Urban Acorn Catering and see if they have any options for you, though it might be too late to book either of those spaces.

  Is the catering already secured? My commercial kitchen for Urban Acorn Catering is an open concept industrial loft that accommodates 20 with the existing tables and chairs but has the capacity for 30. The only thing is that it's in-house catering only... not sure if you are asking as the caterer or the client.   Hey married folks (or folks who've done similar event planning), if you got married in Toronto, where did you have your reception and were you happy with it? I'm looking for reception venues that don't have exclusivity contracts with set caterers as so many do. (Unfortunately, if we serve a vegan dinner and it isn't stellar, you know many of our guests will judge veganism and not just the caterer so it has to be done right which means probably choosing the caterer separately from the venue.) We'd ideally like somewhere TTC-accessible in Toronto proper, capacity of about 150 people. Any recommendations?

We work with lots of venues in the city that are TTC accessible including The Richmond , 2 nd Floor Events , The Burroughes , Twist Gallery , e tc...
