Raccoon got in the house yesterday! It was quite a surprise to see him sitting on a landing :) We had a hard time getting him out, but he did finally leave.
We have 3 inside cats as well as outside feral cats living in a house we built for them under our porch to keep them warm (they have been all trapped, fixed and released back to us). We feed them through the basement window, and that's how raccoon got in, he was strong enough to pry the window open.
He pooped twice next to litter box, peed (not in a litter box) too. He was huge, not viscous at all, and looked healthy. Didn't hurt any cats, outside or inside ones, just ate all their food. But....Should we worry about any deseases besides rabies? Is so, is it preventable? Is there a vet who does house calls that anyone can recommend?
Thanks!
