  Hi Juley, I teach at London Jewellery School - as well as at my own teaching studio in Cornwall - and there are quite a few classes running at LJS which are introductions to metal clay. I'd suggest you do a beginners course or maybe the five day metal clay intensive - I'm teaching one of these from tomorrow at LJS - which will give you a really solid grounding in lots of aspects of working with metal clay. http://www.londonjewelleryschool.co.uk/certification-classes/metal-clay-5-day-intensive/

  Tell courses at London jewellery school responsive. Go onto amazon get a book on metal clay from natalie column this lady is great at metal clay also do one of her courses. Watch you tune videos your learn loads. This way is better.
