Due to insurmountable family issues and the dissolution of the family farm partnership, we find ourselves needing to relocate before June 1, 2016. We are looking for a long term rental property for our livestock as well as ourselves.
Location is no where near as important as the facilities. We require winter housing for our livestock as well as summer pasture and access to land for hay. A small piece of cultivatable land to grow a small amount of grain on for the critters would be great but s not imperative. As it is only my husband and myself, the house need only be warm and dry.
Currently, we have just over 100 head of cows between our beef herd, our Dexter herd and our dairy/nurse cow herd as well as a few horses, 2 dogs and 3 barn cats. We are prepared to downsize our herd considerably to facilitate relocation.
My husband is a retired Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with a penchant for carpentry and renovations. I raise poultry, "bum" calves, grass fed freezer beef and grow a large "market style" garden. I would also like to return to raising pastured hogs. We both enjoy hunting, fishing and doing yard work together.
