  So my prop shaft needs replacing. It measures 45mm or 1 3/4 inches in diameter. Boat made in the 70s by Hancock and Lane. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement (preferably by Friday) and if it's a metric or imperial measurement?

  This is where our gigantic non standard prop shaft came from. Our old one did the same as yours, when our boat (with previous owner) was connected to land line in marina with no galvanic isolator. http://www.tnorrismarine.co.uk
