  ISO advice on firewood locations FREE - Mammoth Lakes, California Do any of you fellow Mammoth residents know of a good place to go cut firewood? I need to to go wooding for this winter's wood supply, and have not seen much downed trees to cut up. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

  Dave Turner, as mentioned, go to the CA Welcome Center/Ranger Station (203 at the entrance to town) for a permit, restrictions (yes, chain saws are NOT allowed with this high fire danger) and a map. They are open daily from 8-5. (760) 924-5500 and press "0" when you hear the voice menu to speak with a staff person. BR
