4 Year Old Lab Mix

I have to retire my service dog (owner-trained) early. He has developed several new fears that are making it impossible for him to go out in public, and I need a service dog that can go everywhere with me. This has not been an easy decision by any means, and I have consulted with a lot of people about his issues, so no negative comments, please.
He's 4 1/2 years old, 70 pounds, 3/4 black lab, and 1/4 German Shepherd. He's neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of his shots. He's great with kids of all ages once he gets to know them. He loves all other dogs and is pretty good with cats once he gets used to them, and he ignores my pet birds. He does have some allergies and stomach issues, so he's on a pretty expensive food and sometimes needs to take Benadryl (vet approved). He also is prone to ear infections, and occasionally needs ear drops, which are inexpensive and available on Amazon.
He is not good on a leash for anyone but me, so his new owner will either need to be capable of handling and training him on a leash, or have a fenced in backyard where he doesn't need to be on a leash. He needs moderate exercise daily, and as long as he gets this he's calm and quiet indoors. He might even be a good companion for someone who has mobility challenges, since he's great at picking up dropped objects and bracing his muscles to provide balance.
I have set a rehoming fee of $300, possibly negotiable for the right person; however, if someone is asking for a very low fee (or free) I will need vet references, and probably character references as well. The most important thing is that he goes to a great home! He will come with whatever food he has left (currently almost a full bag), a couple of his favorite toys, and all of his vet records that I have. I would love it if his new owner could keep in touch and maybe send me updates occasionally. I will be happy to keep in touch with the new owner and answer any questions that might come up.
