I'm looking for somewhere unusual, quirky or generally splendid for an intimate lunch for two in central London... I just thought some of you wonderful people might be able to recommend somewhere? Many thanks.

The restaurant at St Pancras Hotel: http://www.thegilbertscott.co.uk/
Somewhere to splash out on dinner? So I've just found gainful employment (woot), and I'm planning on taking the missus out to celebrate next month. Now I've been a student the last 4 years, so I like to think I have a good repertoire of nice affordable restaurants around Central - but as the job comes with a little signing bonus, I though it'd be fun to splash out a bit and go somewhere we wouldn't normally.
I don't want to spend money just for the sake of it, though - the Bollinger and caviar can stay firmly put. Can anyone recommend a restaurant that's really worth a bit of extra expense?
Cheers!

[The Gilbert Scott](http://www.thegilbertscott.co.uk/) -Marcus Wareing's brasserie food that's just like his stuff in the much more expensive The Berkeley but loads cheaper. Great setting too right next to Kings Cross St Pancras - where The Spice Girls "If you wanna be my lover" was filmed but don't let that put you off.
