HI all - I think we need a landscaper/engineer hybrid, if such a person exists... We live up against a steep hill in the Woodlands. There are several very large prickly pear cacti on the top of the closest hill, and they shade the ground around them and downhill from them. We can't get anything to grow there, not even ice plant. (The "deer highway" that goes through there is, of course, not helping; I think we've killed most of the ground squirrels which were a huge problem.) I'm really worried that when the El Nino rains come in a few months, those cacti are going to be undermined and come down the hill, not stopping until they are in our living room. We have tried several different ideas to no avail. We need someone who can help us get something to hold the soil on the hill and/or anchor the cacti and/or come up with a different solution entirely. Any suggestions, recommendations, etc?
