Same problem here. I asked advice in a shoe shop in Holland and the man strongly advised to clean the leather (boots) with biotex to kill the mold. Then let it thoroughly dry. Once dry spray with a mod protecting spray. http://www.bio-tex.co.uk/about+biotex
