Northern Plains Animal Health did a same day neuter for my cat, which most vets won't do. They might do one as a spay, although that being a more invasive procedure, it might not be possible.

I haven't shopped around for vets, but the one I use is Swan Creek Veterinary on 40 between Havre de Grace and Aberdeen. They are really nice people, and very compassionate to the animals.

We didn't shop around either but use Friendly Paws Vet Clinic in Aberdeen right next to the dollar tree in Beards Hill. I'm not sure how they compare to other vets but they are wonderful to work with. We now have all of our pets going there.

Secret experimental pro tip: We tried this up Glen Etive in -5 degrees in my MSR Elixr 2.... Get a roll of tinfoil (15 m will do) and line the whole bottom of the tent with it. It took 4 sheets for me to cover the width, I just put it between the ground sheet and the inner tent to keep it dry. Now I can't give any exact figures but all I can say is we were laughing at how warm we were that night:)
