Main Bar is a Sarasota Treasure! You gotta have either an Italian or The Sheik! All the old photos are still there! Parking is still an issue. All the people employed at the court house and other law firms still jam that place at noon! Luckily, one of my closest friends has an office directly above Main Bar! I usually park in his spot behind the establishment!

Christy Slack, no the Melodee Restaurant has been closed for quite a long time but yes, the building is still there. I think one of my girlfriends used to date Ken. Don't know if she still keeps in touch with him. I can ask her if you want.

It is in the cookbook I have. It's my favorite, The Columbia Restaurant Spanish Cookbook. My husband got it for me several years ago and it is signed by Adela Hernandez Gonzmart!! It has recipes and stories and Spanish-Cuban Heritage stories!! And the story how Adela and Cesar met!!

You might be confusing the one that just closed up at the St. Pete pier since the entire building is being torn down as part of the old pier's demolition. The Columbia group also closed its West Palm Beach location in '08. No announcements of their original 1905 Ybor location closing to my knowledge.
