Need an installation recommendation for kitchen flooring and kitchen countertop. Any recommendations? Also, I feel horrible about ripping out our hardwood in the...

Quality Home Building Supplies out of Portland for countertops, will save you money. Customer service not the best, but saved a ton and they did a good job. The jury is out on flooring. I am going to fly a family member here to do ours. I couldn't get a very fair estimate in town on luxury vinyl flooring/installation.

Direct flooring Albany by Home Depot did our floor. It was $1,000 less for exact same product as other Albany place and great installation. We're happy anyway

Ak Carpets is good to work with I refer to them too and they do both.
Thomas Kay Textiles/Flooring? Ever used them? Looking for a review I live in Albany and I'm looking for a particular Shaw carpet. I received two estimates from local...

Could ask for references. Doesn't hurt to see what the fellow can provide in terms of proof of quality work. I also suggest that no news might be good news, as they say. People always spread the word when there is bad service but tend to forget to promote/praise when everything goes good or as expected.

Remeber the day before reviews where we bought things cold turkey. I miss those days. I have no experience with the company, but if they quote you a price on a product and service you want - and all the specifics look good, go for it.

Ended up using them. I had picked out a carpet at a different retailer, made some phone calls in Albany, Corvallis, Salem and Eugene and Thomas Kay was the cheapest. They were not only the best price, but I was extremely happy with the quality of work. I would definitely use them again.
Anyone know of a good local place that steam cleans carpets at a reasonable place?? Don't buy flooring from Empire State!! Carpet looks 5 years old, it's four months,...

Stop! Steam cleaning will not fix your problem. The carpet was improperly stretched when it was installed. Even cheap carpet will not bubble when installed properly. They need to send someone to re-stretch your carpet with a power stretcher. We know flooring because we used to install it. Hope they don't mess up the vinyl.
