Not really Alexandria (at all) but the Standard Barbershop in Fairfax is full of awesome barbers who know their shit. Very hipster though.

I really like G for Hair in Old Town. Hector's really good and overall a cool guy.
DemureCynosure replied:
The Standard, Fairfax city proper. Insanely great haircut, but you'll have to book about 1-2 months out for Tommy (the owner). He's in high demand.

There is a place in Ashburn called Gentleman's Barber. They are fast, they are very good, and they end the thing with a warm towel and neck massage. 15 dollars. Can't beat em. It's a bit of a hike from Alexandria, but if you go out that way, it's worth stopping in.

http://www.thebarberstud.io/ Marco, runs a private barber. $40. Extremely personal, nice setup, good judgment of what you may want without specifics. The ladies at work lost it after he cut my hair with very little guidance.

I have *really* long hair by dude standards around here. And it tends to get curly the longer it gets. I had my first trim in a long time at Arzum Barbershop in Old Town. They are on N Columbus, right off King Street. It is set up like a salon, but the clientele and prices are definitely barbershop level. I had 3 inches cut off, and shaping/cleaning done around my ears and sideburns. All told, I was out the door for $25 + tip. No screw ups, everything was even and tight. Personally, I will go back.

Hair Cuttery at Potomac Yard. Ask for Lam. ONLY use Lam. He's been there for 15+ years. One of the best there is for men's hair. He's so popular he has his own calendar because so many people make appointments with him.

Gentlemen's Quarters on S. Lee in Old Town. Ask for Tawny.

Reflections Of You, they focus on females but they did my hairstyle pretty well. They have multiple locations in the area.

I'm happy with Hendricks in Arlington on Washington.

[Mt. Vernon Barber](http://www.mtvernonbarber.com). It's in the 7600 blk of Richmond Highway in the Hybla Valley shopping center. David Le is the best but they're all pretty decent.
Local friends... I need a good referral for boys haircuts. We don't go to the barber and their "lady" is on maternity leave.

Taj at Hair Cuttery at Beacon Hill. She's very nice and does a good job with hair like The Finn's and Mac.

We've tried a few places and the best boy cuts we've had are from Cookie at the Hair Cuttery in Beacon Hill. I don't make an appt but only go on days they tell me she'll be working and then we wait for her.

Thanks for stopping in to see John Theultimatebarber Hall! I don't have a brow referral for you. I'm still on the look out for a good and convenient person myself!
