There are many other photo ws, which usually advertise in Outdoor Photography magazine, the best in the business. Note: Outdoor Photographer magazine is not a good & it is from the UK. https://www.facebook.com/outdoorphotographymag

Check out the art league of Alexandria (though not actually in Fairfax co). The classes are held in the north end of Old Town. I'd also suggest checking out the FB /online group 52 Frames for weekly photo projects and a great community of learners. https://www.theartleague.org
REI offers courses as well. The one I took was more on how to use your camera to its fullest potential but they offer more extensive ones too. https://www.rei.com/learn.html

Look into the Northern Virginia Photographic Society nvps.org.

Also, join Northern Virginia Photographic Society (NVPS). That will be a great help to you, as it has been for many other local photographers.... http://nvps.org/home/

Workshops, if you can afford them, are great! Tony Sweet has good ones in the mid-Atlantic region (GSMNP & Cape May, for example). http://tonysweet.com/
Looking for a referral for a great photographer for new head shots... Any recommendations?
Sue B. replied:
Hi Terry, If this is for someone in a job search there is a great photographer who does this FREE once a month. I have volunteered for 4 years at CNM. Tonight he will take up to 75 head shots for those "between business cards" and/or those needing them for social media. McLean Bible Church, 6:00 pm. Call me with any questions.
