Auto Start in Anchorage? Can anyone recommend a good place to get an auto start installed?
I contacted Continental (where we bought our car) and it's crazy expensive....

I linked some groupon autostart deals below that just popped in my box this morning. I can't speak to the quality but it's $200 bucks.
I know a lot of people botch self installs, maybe these are viable.

Safe N Sound is the place to go, great place. They had me all set up and I've not had one problem.

There's a really great place on the Old Seward, Anchorage Auto Electric I think. I have no idea if they do auto starts, but the owner loves Subarus and is great with them. Took my 93 Loyale there two or three times and it was great every time. Like I said though, not sure they do what you're looking for. Also, off topic, but why does every single new post in this subreddit get a downvote almost immediately? Is there just one really cheesed-off lurker who hates everything Anchorage-related?

Stay away from Continental, careful. Last I heard "perfectionist auto sound" was dependable for things like that, though I've never been there myself.

Back in 2008, I had mine done at Northstart, off old seward and 76 th. Cost ~$325 Worked great, would recommend. Rolled my jeep 2 years later and had them install it in my wife's for $125. I had an issue with the hood pin recognizing the hood was actually closed, and they fixed the problem for free. Just a note, if they are still using the same auto start (work order says 1755), if your battery dies or is disconnected, they need to reestablish the connection between the remote and the vehicle, which takes a few minutes and is free. Keep the original work order because you need it to prove they installed it and will honor their lifetime warranty
