All there is in this valley is Middletown Vet Clinic. http://middletownvet.net/
Michele W. replied:
I go to Sally the Valley Vet (Sally Kinsey, DVM) (707) 965-2675, 7227 Pope Valley Road, Pope Valley, CA 94576. And, NO, it is not convenient.
Gina M. replied:
Clearlake Vet off Emerson...reasonable and great with my cats. The closer ones were very rude and pricy
Kay L. replied:
Sally the Valley Vet.
Rosalie J. replied:
Sally the Valley Vet. Kind of a drive, but worth it.
Frieda C. replied:
Clearlake Vets on Emerson ( off Olympic ). Dr. Debra Sally is our vet but they are all good there. Open 7 days a week and evenings. They always do followup phone calls after a procedure or when medicine is prescribed.
Rosalie C. replied:
I go to Middletown because they offer high end services and medical staff from Davis--I haven't heard of anyone else who can provide laser treatment for my arthritic dog. Yes, I too recommend Rohnert Park for emergencies. All vets have their good and bad points. I tried out a number of them here and this was my final choice. For birds, I go to the East Petaluma Animal Hospital off Hwy 116. Dr. Rupiper knows his birds. And I still read around online and listen to Michele, etc. It's still a lot of guess-work when it comes to animal health. I avoid being talked into a lot of expensive tests.
Phyllis L. replied:
Clearlake Vets are great
Heather W. replied:
My last GS hated going to Middltown. They would always put a muzzle on her, and she would have an accident every time. sorry to be gross, but she would have urine all over her hind end, and we'd have to give her a bath. Also, there was a female vet who was always condescending to my easy going husband. Clearlake Veterinary Clinic is the best.
Lisa R. replied:
Clearlake Vet - Dr. Sally is the best and the staff is great! Avoid Waddington in Clearlake, she almost killed my dog neutering him. Middletown is owned by a jerk with high prices. He would not even let me see my dog after surgery because his check cahsing verification company mistakenly did not approve my payment. Animals don't even like Jeff Smith.
Michele W. replied:
For shots, rabies shots and heartworm annual blood test and meds I go to VIP right in HVL in front of Barks & Bubbles. https://www.vippetcare.com/
Lora D. replied:
not a fan of Middletown VEt, we go to http://www.yelp.com/biz/strong-tim-n-dvm-lakeport
Cynthia T. replied:
Unfortunately if it's a nightime emergency - you'll have to go to the ER in Rohnert Park.:/ As far as a regular vet, I wouldn't recommend Middletown but rather Sally the Valley (noted above), Jeri Waddington@Doc Jerii's on Lakeshore in Clearlake or...the one I'm going to next which is Clearlake Vet off Olympic in Clearlake.
Aram T. replied:
I like the one in Clearlake but Saturday services are limited. The one in Middletown is a bit expensive so we go to Wikiup in Santa Rosa.
Does anyone know of a good veterinarian around town for my pup?
Christina M. replied:
Dr dotti VCA animal hospital off Santa Rosa ave...(707) 545-1622... Her husband is vet also (large animals)
Stephanie K. replied:
VIP PetCare is extremely affordable and convenient. The people that work there are pretty awesome too.
Heather B. replied:
I just went through hell with my dog and was at 3 different vets. I ended up at redwood next to costco and they were the best. Dr Hoskins knows what he's doing and cares so much about animals that he did most of the service for free (3 k worth). I started at petcare and they were nice but expensive and there are a lot of different doctors there. Dr Hoskins at Redwood is trustworthy and experienced plus his whole nursing staff is compassionate and totally helpful. That's the only place I'll go from now on, they did so much for me and my dog. In the end we weren't able to save him and they helped me through that process above and beyond what I would expect from any vet.

Dr Jordan, coddingtown vet

Zack R. replied:
I live in rosa but bring my pit to Analy vet in Sebastopol... They have been good and I know a few other people that like it there.

http://www.wagginsmiles.com/ I hear these people offer reasonable teeth cleaning. The SPCA quote I got was outrageous, over $400. I've also moved from Pets Unlimited/SPCA to Sunset Vets on Noriega.
Lydia H. replied:
Find Dr. Sara Woodberry at the Presidio Way Veterinary Hospital! http://www.yelp.com/biz/presidio-way-veterinary-hospital-san-francisco
Wrich P. replied:
In San Jose, teeth cleaning runs $160 to $300 depending on options, and the need to have a tooth pulled. VIP clinics will do your blood work for a general exam ($44.00) and ($44) for the blood test- at a wellness clinic. You should call them to find out what services they offer in your area: 1800-427-7973. The blood test will be emailed, and portable to any vet for teeth work as long as you get it there within 3 days to a week. For what you are being quoted, you are paying a very high rate for convenience. There are general vets all over the South Bay, and East Bay which charge FAR less than that. Hell, for a simple teeth cleaning, there is no way I would not try to save $300 to $1000.00. You could get a hotel room off of Expedia or Priceline and stay in the south bay and make a party out of it if you just wanted to toss away money.

(Note, for Kitsune, teeth cleaning, and extraction of a fractured 3 root tooth cost $250.00 from San Jose Animal Clinic. With sedation. All in.)
Any ideas to help people whose pets need emergency vet care? I've seen RedRover Relief Grants for $100 to $200 but what about emergency after hours vets willing to help....

I've gotten shots at Pet Supplies Plus VIP Clinic for Lucy and a $10 microchip. PetSmart has a Banfield Animal Hospital in some of their stores. I may try the Medina one.
Jenn S. replied:
I use VIP for mine. I took all 3 for hw testing, shots, rabies shot & prevention for a year for heartworm & fleas. Cost just over $200. WAY cheaper than my regular Vet Clinic.

Read the whole post. Looking for FREE care. The guy that needs it cannot afford anything & does not qualify for Care Credit. Neither do I.
Does anyone know of a Vet that will let me make monthly payments?
Joy G. replied:
We took our Kitties to Well Pet Vet Clinic in Pittsburgh. They are pretty reasonable. Give them a call. If they won't accept payments they will probably know someone that does. 9254274300
