We're going to the same place between may 9 - 23! Our plan is to fly from Bangkok to Koh Lipe, stay for a few days, take a taxi from Pak Bara to Ao Nang, stay for a few nights and go up north to Chiangmai and Pai. Last time I went to Thailand, I really liked Koh Tao (relaxing) and Koh Phi Phi (party and nightlife).

I loved Ao Nang! We stayed 4 nights, but I felt like we could've stayed longer. Try to book at Krabi Resort in Ao Nang. It is the only resort that is on the beach. The beach there is also private. We stayed in a private pool villa; but I understand the prices have gone up and may not be affordable. [Krabi Resort](http://www.krabiresort.net) We went on Koh Phi Phi. We liked the island, but hated our resort. Avoid Viking Nature Resort. In Phuket we stayed at Chanalai Romantica Resort. We had a pool access suite, it was beautiful. Great service as well.
